Break The Norms (BTN) is a place for meditation, self-discovery and transformation. At Break The Norms, we nurture the seeds of consciousness in you, guiding you to rediscover your divinity and tap into your infinite potential. BTN conducts a variety of meditation classes and workshops for spiritual seekers from all walks of life and all levels of meditation experience. BTN decided to set up shop on Long Island in Hicksville, New York and called it 'home.' Long Island is best known for its amazing beaches and beautiful natural landscapes. Long Island has an impressive resume, with many things to do and places to see. Long Island is home to major airports, amazing aquariums, fascinating museums and fun-filled parks. The energy on Long Island is peaceful and serene but also encompasses the hustle and bustle of city-living. The westernmost end of Long Island contains the New York City boroughs of Brooklyn and Queens. The central portion of the island contains the suburban counties of Nassau and Suffolk. The eastern end of Long Island is home to well-known hot-spots such as the Hamptons and Montauk point; a vacationer's paradise. The island is rich in history and culture, making it easy to call Long Island home.
BTN holds satsangs and weekly meditation classes at our meditation center. BTN also started doing expos and wellness fairs on Long Island and then in New York City; 'The Financial Capital of the World.' New York City is home to hundreds of thousands of people and it truly is the city that never sleeps. The energy of Manhattan is unparalleled to anywhere else on the planet. At every single moment there is something happening above you in the amazing skyscrapers or way down below you in the hidden, underground world of subways and tunnels throughout New York City. The aura of the City is undeniable. People are constantly going somewhere, doing something. Many people from Long Island choose to work in New York City and commute there every day by means of the Long Island Railroad. However, with work and finances also comes a great deal of stress. Clearly, the people of New York City needed to get in touch with their river of inner peace. New Yorkers needed to find a way to take a break from the constant barrage of money and career matters. But after a busy day full of hard work, most people just want to unwind with a glass of wine in front of the T.V. and any chance of meditation goes right out the window. Spirituality becomes an afterthought and survival becomes our only focus in life. But let's face it, there is never going to be a Buddha walking the streets of Manhattan! How would he afford to pay rent? Or eat? Or take a cab? It's just not practical for the world we live in today. Case and point; there must be a way to balance both spirituality and success. This is where Break The Norms steps in.
The time has come to expand the awareness of humanity. We are living in precarious times and it is imperative to seek out that which is most important in this life and remember who we are. We are spiritual beings having a human experience, learning lessons of love on Earth. Yes, money is essential to survival and you need money just to breathe these days. Yes, success is wonderful and achievable... but so is enlightenment. The key is to bein this world, but not of this world. There is a way to balance both worldly success and spirituality. It is possible to achieve your wildest dreams of success and still nourish your soul, leading to a happy and fulfilling existence.
