Eating Vegetarian – you are what you eat!

Being Vegetarian
By now we all know that eating meat is bad for you in countless ways. It not only directly causes cancer and a whole host of other physical ailments including heart disease and high blood pressure, but it is also detrimental to your spiritual self.

Human beings are not physiologically designed to the consume animal flesh and this is why we are so prone to cancer and other degenerative diseases. Animals are fed and exposed to so many chemicals which include penicillin, tetracycline, sewage-sludge pellets decontaminated with caesium-137, radioactive nuclear waste, fattening agents and a list of other chemicals and antibiotics to “prime” the animal for sale. Also, after the slaughter of the terrified animal, chemical treatment which some meat receives when it is routinely dipped in sodium sulphite (to decrease the stench of decay and turn it red rather than the sickly grey color of aging animal flesh) is thought to be carcinogenic. In fact, even cement dust is included in farm animal’s feed! If people really knew how that steak got onto their plate, they would run for the nearest juice bar!

If that’s not enough of a reason for you, there is more. Many spiritual leaders advocate a vegetarian diet in order to meditate well. It is often said that being vegetarian purifies the soul. Some also say that eating meat causes us to ingest feelings of anger, fear and aggression. This makes sense because when an animal is killed, the animal would have a lot of adrenaline pumping through its veins. We ingest this adrenaline which is actually fear. There is no way that this can be good for you physically, emotionally, mentally or spiritually. Your animal instincts become more powerful every time you eat meat. Food is supposed to nourish our bodies and sustain our energy. If you are not eating anything living, then you’re dying!

The purpose of meditation is to tap into your own source of divine power and move away from the animal nature into a more balanced, healthy and compassionate human nature. Meat eating inhibits this. A meditation practice cultivates good health, peace, and balance. To sit in meditation and call upon beneficent, healing powers while there is dead, negative energy inside you is counter-productive. Therefore, eating meat is not conducive to growth in any area of life. Clean your body, clean your mind, clean your soul.

Practice compassion for your mind, body, soul and all living beings. Go veg!

  1. Thanks for sharing, Harriet. If I ever go back to eantig meat it will absolutely be local, organic and raised on the food that the animal would naturally eat for so many reasons. This is great info!
